A few weeks ago in Florence, the various museums that are partof the "Big Small Museums" have given way to the vast calendar of exhibitions dedicated to artistic Florence and the golden age of antiques and collectibles with the title collective "the rooms of treasures."
The exhibition at Palazzo Medici Riccardi summarizes the epic story of those decades analyzing the phenomenon in variousa spects, in particular the need for affirmation of middle class twentieth-century that art and collectibles becomestatus symbols.
The Stibbert showcases the famous Florentine Ginori ceramicsand Cantagalli, while the Bardini reopen the Exhibition of Paintings rearranged according to the taste of the donor, with thefourteenth-century crucifix of Bernardo Daddi just been restored.
The Horne Museum offers a collection of drawings by Raphael to Constable, while Davanzati Palace, the Museum of the Old Florentine House, shows off photos of Elia Volpi documenting theoriginal furniture before they were all sold during the Great War in a 'pharaonic auction in New York.
